Each year, Victoria County Transit customers who utilize our Fare Assistance Program need to complete an updated application form. The form is available below as a PDF or Microsoft Word file. You can also ask any of our transit drivers for a paper copy.

About the Program
The Rural Transportation Association is administering a grant program to provide Community Transit Operators like Victoria County Transit, with funding to subsidize fares for those who may face financial barriers to accessing essential services.
The Nova Scotia Department of Public Works, through the Fare Assistance Program, is providing the funding for this program.
Fare Assistance Program Guidelines
Who is eligible: A single person making less than $37,000 per year, or a couple/family making less than $57,000 per year.
Recording eligibility: All riders must complete a paper application form and sign a declaration that they meet the eligibility requirements of the program. All applications are subject to approval.
Funding limits: Funding is limited, and once the funds are depleted, the program will close.
If you are currently participating in the program, it is time to renew your application. If you do not renew by July 30, 2026, you may be removed from the program.
